K-CMV “Colorado’s Mountain Voice”, in conjunction with the Summit Foundation, has awarded the March Community Connection Scholarship of $1063 to Abigail Grey of West Grand High School.  Abigail has proved to be an exceptional student and has dedicated much of her time to the community.  K-CMV is honored to present Abigail with the Community Connection Scholarship that she can use to further her education. Abigail plans to attend Colorado State University to become a veterinarian.

Abigail Grey is a firm believer that community service is an important key to making her life and the lives of those around her more successful and fulfilling.  Abigail learned the importance of being a good role model when she had the honor of being the Middle Park Fair and Rodeo Queen in 2006, which helped her establish the Princess Program for young girls in her community.  She helped provide them with shirts and tiaras; the girls rode in parades, rodeos, and made appearances at community functions.  Abigail is the president of West Grand High School’s National Honor Society and has worked with various organizations such as The Shining Stars, Operation Christmas Child, and Bonfil’s Blood Drive events. Abigail is also a proven leader in the Grand County 4-H program, a program that has inspired her to become a veterinarian. 

K-CMV will be awarding $1063 Community Connection Scholarships monthly through May 2008 to high school seniors in Summit, Grand, Routt, Moffat and Eagle Counties. Visit www.kcmvradio.com or the high school counseling office to apply.
